A Sustainable HR Supply Chain for Defence

Would you like to know about the skills for a sustainable human resources supply chain for defence?

Watch the video below where Dr. Gualtiero Fantoni, ASSETs+ Coordinator from the University of Pisa, presents the ASSETs+ experience at the Skills for Industry Conference, last June 29.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is huge. Combined with the digital and green transitions, industry will undergo fundamental transformations.

New technologies are transforming the way people work and acquire new skills. They offer a great potential for the development of smart services as well as new and better jobs. In this context, there is a strong need to foster skills acquisition and promote the right to training for all.

The Conference, that took place last June 29-30, was focussed on the upskilling and reskilling challenges that the EU is facing, presented good practice cases, scenarios and recommendations for creating new training and jobs opportunities.

ASSETs+ will participate in this webinar dedicated to the topic of technological skills in the Aerospace and Defence sectors, during which the EU “Pact for Skills” program will be described.

The Pact for Skills promotes joint action to maximise the impact of investing in improving existing skills (upskilling) and training in new skills (reskilling). It calls on industry, employers, social partners, chambers of commerce, public authorities, education and training providers and employment agencies to work together and make a clear commitment to invest in training for all working age people across the EU.

Aerospace & Defence Pact workshop, February 4

ASSETs+ will participate in the Aerospace & Defence Pact workshop organised by the European Commission, next February 4.

Aerospace & Defence Pact partners and potential partners will discuss the Commission’s support to the Aerospace & Defence Pact, the newly formed partnership under the Pact for Skills initiative, its operation and cooperation mode, examples of actions to pursue, and next steps.

Managed by the European Aerospace & Defence Association, the Pact will first put in place a skills forecasting system and a plan on how to support upskilling and reskilling on predefined areas through large scale actions supported by private and public funding. Regions will play a pivotal role in enabling such actions, in particular those financed by the Structural Funds and the Recovery & Resilience Funds.
