Multi-year Defence Science and Technology Research Programme

Objectives of the call

The backbone of research conducted at Defence is the multi-year Defence Science and Technology Research Programme. Currently, this programme is entirely funded by Defence and is primarily directed to Defence research institutions. Nevertheless, collaborations with external partners are encouraged.

The projects making up the programme are selected each year following a call for projects, internal to Defence. They are subject to various evaluations, notably on their scientific merit (carried out by high-level external scientific experts) and their appropriateness (interest for Defence, but also the collaborative nature and the potential at the societal and economic level). After approval by the RHID’s Scientific Committee and Board of Directors, it is submitted to the Minister of Defense and the Council of Ministers for approval.

The current program consists of 120 studies.
