Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Artificial Intelligence (EMAI)

30 January 2020/in Cybersecurity, fiches, Postgraduate studies, Robotics, Autonomous Systems, Artificial Intelligence /by Fransisca Tena

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Artificial Intelligence (EMAI) gives students the foundational knowledge needed to explore key contextual areas and complex technical applications of AI systems.

All students will begin their studies at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona for a common introduction to the different paradigms of AI and to the basic computational mathematical background with compulsory courses on autonomous systems, symbolic reasoning, machine learning, natural language interaction and reinforcement learning.

The students will spend the second semester at one of the other consortium universities. In the second year, the students will specialise at one of the four consortium universities, where they will develop their master theses:

  • Intelligent Decision Making (University Pompeu Fabra, Spain)
  • Robotics (Sapienza University Rome, Italy)
  • Cybersecurity (Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands)
  • Data Science (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia)

Organizer
University Pompeu Fabra (Spain)
Cooperation with
Sapienza University Rome (Italy), Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia)

Duration
2 years (4 semesters)

Thematic scope
Artificial Intelligence

Cost
Out of 25 students admitted, five will be offered a fee waiver and 20 will be offered the full Erasmus Mundus scholarship (€1400 monthly)

Job opportunities
EMAI integrates machine learning and modern symbolic AI in theory, methods and applications. The students learn to use AI technologies, and to develop new tools that go beyond the state-of-the-art. This competitive advantage of the program will prepare students for careers in a large number of sectors of the digital industry (ICT, cybersecurity, data science, robotics, digital health, renewable energy etc.) as well as to continue a scientific career.
