Master’s Programme in Security and Cloud Computing

The Erasmus Mundus joint masters SECCLO (Security and Cloud Computing) combines strong security knowledge with hands-on R&D skills in cloud computing to educate highly professional engineers to meet immediate hiring requirements and long-term needs of the European ICT industry.

The first year of the curriculum is offered by Aalto University in Finland, wherein students will focus on secure systems engineering, distributed application development, network and service architectures, ubiquitous computing, cloud and mobile computing platforms. At the end of the first year, students will do a summer internship at one of the industrial partners of the consortium.

In the second year, the students will continue at another consortium university by specialising in one of the following fields: communications systems (The Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden), information security (The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU), reliable distributed systems (Technical University of Denmark), cryptography (University of Tartu, Estonia), big data security (EURECOM co-deliverance with Institut Mines Télécom, France).

Thematic Scope
Cloud computing (highly distributed and scalable computation and data storage in data centers as well as physically accessible devices) and information security (protection of computation, communication and data from unauthorized access).

Cost
Tuition fees €3000/year. Erasmus Mundus scholarships available based on merit.

Job opportunities
The dual perspective of security plus R&D skills for the cloud environment gives the graduates multiple options for their future career in the European labour market in international industrial R&D jobs, security engineering and consulting, various expert roles, doctoral studies in the field.
