The second edition of the European Defence Challenge (EDC) will be launched next October 20. Our partner the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) is the organizer of this edition.
We are working on the second edition of the European Defence Challenge, a competition to attract young talent to the Defence industry and to encourage them to initiate a career in defence-related technologies.
The European Commission has declared technology as EU’s top priority for the next years. More particularly, one key objective is the mastery and ownership of key technologies in Europe.
With this objective in mind, the European Defence Challenge asks European students to propose one or more work approaches dealing with topics such as artificial intelligence, sensor technologies, autonomous vehicles, data science, cybersecurity, chip technologies, control, robotics, signal and image processing, and defence-related technologies.
The launch event will take place next October 20, 16:00-17:00 CEST, a day before the Conference on Future Skills for Europe’s Aerospace and Defence Industry in Rzeszow (Poland), where representatives of ASSETs+ project will discuss the challenges of building skills for the defence sector, including attracting new workforce.
