European Defence Challenge 5th edition Awards Ceremony
Join us in Brussels on May 9 and meet the winners of the 5th edition of the European Defence Challenge
The European Defence Challenge 5th edition contestants have already presented their final proposals addressing multidisciplinary approaches to landmine clearance and security enhancement.
After carefully reviewing all the submissions, we are proud to announce the finalists for this edition:
- Andrea Arieti and Daniele Nannelli, from DTU – Technical University of Denmark and Università di Pisa
- Jens Magnus Oldenburg and Christoffer Hartmann Skovsgård, from Syddansk Universitet – University of Southern Denmark
- Mohammad Hajj and Karen Safa, from Université Toulouse Capitole
- Matylda Iwanicka and Radosław Ciećko, from Rzeszow University of Technology
Congratulations to these outstanding teams for their innovative ideas and hard work!
The winner team will be announced during the Awards Ceremony, to be held at Royal Military Academy in Brussels, on May 9 (10:30-12:00 CET), with the presence of highly relevant speakers.

The European Defence Challenge is an open competition to attract young talent to the Defence industry and to encourage them to initiate a career in defence-related technologies. The Challenge invites European students to think about a current problem in the domain of Defence and propose a solution.
It was established under the ASSETs+ project (2020-2023).
