This two-day course provides a basic understanding of big data concepts, data sets and basic tools. The objective is to familiarize the participant with big data concepts and various tools for extraction, transformation, and analysis of data. This includes embedded practical exercises during the course.

- Introduction to big data and definition of big data
- Big data concepts and terms
- The 3 to 10 V’s of big data
- Structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
- Data lakes and data warehouse concepts
- ETL – Extract, transform and load model
- Handling and processing big data
- Big data analysis in practice using example applications
- Case study’s and practical exercises
